DVA Gold or White Card holders
Care For Smiles is an Approved Provider of dental services for the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA).
If the entitled person has a DVA Gold Card (Repatriation Health Card - For All Conditions), under DVA (Department of Veteran Affairs) arrangements they are eligible for clinically necessary dental services.
If the entitled person has a DVA White Card (Repatriation Health Card - For Specific Conditions), under DVA (Department of Veteran Affairs) arrangements they are eligible for dental services that are required because of an accepted war or service caused injury or disease. Prior approval from the DVA is required for ALL dental treatment for White Card holders.
If you are eligible, the DVA will pay for dental services available in the DVA schedule.
Eligible services covered by the DVA include
- Consultations, oral examinations
- Scale and cleans, x-rays
- Fillings and extractions
- Mouthguards, dentures and splints
Care For Smiles does not charge a gap for eligible services performed, therefore, there are no out-of-pocket expenses.
You do not need a referral from your doctor to make an appointment with a dentist.
- DVA does not pay for services not listed in the DVA schedule.
- DVA will not pay for any services that have been paid in part or full by Medicare, private health insurance or a third party compensation benefit.
